We are delighted to welcome Zapgo to the growing ONEEV charging network, giving drivers access to more rapid and ultra-rapid public charging locations across the UK through one simple app.
At ONEEV, our aim is straightforward: make public EV charging easier. That means helping drivers find useful charging locations, understand their options and manage compatible sessions without needing a separate account for every network.
Adding participating Zapgo locations to ONEEV is another practical step towards that goal.
What is Zapgo?
Zapgo is a UK charge point operator founded in 2023. Its network is being developed around destinations and communities where drivers already spend time, including shops, hospitality venues, leisure locations and local facilities.
This destination-led approach matters. Public charging is not only about motorway hubs or the total number of charge points on a map. It is about installing the right equipment in locations that are convenient, accessible and useful to local people and visitors.
Zapgo has placed particular emphasis on communities that have historically had less access to rapid charging. That complements ONEEV’s wider goal of making public EV charging easier to understand and use across the UK and Ireland.
Rapid and ultra-rapid charging at selected Zapgo locations
Zapgo is installing DC rapid and ultra-rapid equipment, with selected locations offering chargers rated at up to 200kW. The network predominantly uses CCS connectors, which are widely used by modern electric cars for DC charging.
A charger’s stated power is the maximum it can supply, not a guarantee of the speed every vehicle will receive. The car’s maximum charging rate, battery temperature, state of charge and charging curve all affect real-world performance. Our guide to rapid and ultra-rapid EV charging explains those factors in more detail.
Zapgo’s largest charging hub to date
The direction of the network can be seen at Sowerby Wood Business Park in Barrow-in-Furness. Zapgo describes it as its largest site to date, with ten charging bays—including two fully accessible bays—served by five 200kW ultra-rapid chargers.
The location is open 24 hours a day and includes driver facilities such as toilets, refreshments and a defibrillator. It also supports an area that Zapgo identifies as historically underserved by public charging, while providing another option for people travelling to and from the Lake District.
Other Zapgo launches have brought charging to destinations including Fussels Fine Foods in Somerset, Callerton Rise Retail Park near Newcastle, Tesco Express in Lochmaben and Starbucks in Crieff. Availability, power and facilities vary by location, so drivers should always check the individual site details before travelling.
Why charger reliability matters
A charger is only useful when drivers can depend on it. Zapgo reports that its network maintained more than 99% availability during 2025, supported by proactive monitoring, maintenance and operational support.
That focus aligns closely with ONEEV’s approach. Clear live information and dependable partner data are essential if drivers are to make confident decisions before they arrive. Read more about the reliability standards ONEEV expects from charging partners.
Network-level availability does not mean that every charger will be available at every moment. A bay may be occupied, undergoing maintenance or temporarily unavailable. Checking current information and keeping a nearby alternative in mind remains good practice on longer journeys.
Why bringing networks together makes charging simpler
The UK charging network is expanding quickly, but growth can introduce a different kind of complexity. Different operators may have different accounts, payment journeys and ways of presenting information.
ONEEV is designed to reduce that friction by bringing participating charging networks into one driver-focused experience. You should be able to find a suitable charger, review key details and manage a compatible charging session without unnecessary steps.
For drivers using a supported Zapgo location through ONEEV, the process is designed to feel familiar: find the location, select the appropriate connector, start the session and pay securely in the app. New to public charging? Follow our guide to charging your EV with ONEEV in four steps.
What Zapgo joining ONEEV means for drivers
Participating Zapgo charging locations can now be discovered alongside the other charging networks available through ONEEV. Depending on the charger and the information supplied for that location, drivers can use ONEEV to:
- Search for participating Zapgo charging locations.
- Review useful information such as charging power, connector details and pricing.
- Check availability information where it is supported.
- Navigate to the selected charging location.
- Start and stop compatible charging sessions in the app.
- Pay securely and keep supported charging activity and receipts together.
There is no ONEEV subscription required. Charger availability, compatibility and tariffs can vary, so check the location details shown in the app before starting a session.
Charging where people already want to stop
Zapgo’s focus on destinations and underserved communities is one of the reasons this addition is valuable. Charging works best when it fits naturally into a journey—while shopping, having a coffee, visiting a leisure venue or spending time in a local community.
The network has been developing sites in areas including Somerset, Lancashire, Dumfries and Galloway, Tyne and Wear and Cumbria. Zapgo has also worked with local businesses and community organisations to identify locations where rapid charging can provide a practical benefit.
This is an important part of building a useful national network. Drivers need charging choice beyond the busiest motorway corridors, while destination operators can give visitors a convenient reason to stop.
Public charging should get easier as the network grows
More chargers and faster equipment are welcome, but the digital experience must become simpler at the same time. Drivers need clear information, straightforward payment and confidence that the location they choose suits their car and journey.
ONEEV brings multiple participating networks together so drivers can spend less time thinking about which company operates a charger and more time getting where they need to go.

Frequently asked questions
Is Zapgo available through ONEEV?
Yes. Participating Zapgo charging locations can now be discovered through ONEEV alongside other supported public charging networks. Location features and session compatibility may vary, so check the details shown in the app.
How fast are Zapgo chargers?
Zapgo operates DC rapid and ultra-rapid chargers, with selected locations offering equipment rated at up to 200kW. The power available differs by site.
Will every EV charge at 200kW?
No. A 200kW charger can supply up to that amount, but the vehicle decides how much power its battery can safely accept. Actual speed depends on the car, battery temperature, state of charge and charging curve.
Where can I find Zapgo charging locations?
Open ONEEV and search around your current location, destination or route. Participating Zapgo sites will appear with the available connector, power, pricing and status information supplied for that location.
Do I need a ONEEV subscription to use supported Zapgo chargers?
No. ONEEV does not require a subscription. The tariff for a charging session is shown in the app where supplied, allowing you to review the price before starting.
Can I start and pay for a Zapgo charging session in ONEEV?
You can start, stop and pay for compatible sessions through ONEEV at participating locations. Always select the correct charger and connector in the app before you begin.
