The Moment That Changed Everything
In early 2024, after yet another failed charging session, Lyndon and Tim sat down and compared notes. Properly this time.
It wasn’t just the unreliable charge points. It was the whole picture — the lack of trusted information about home EV chargers, EV-compatible insurance, tyres, servicing, roadside assistance.
Drivers were buying into the technology but being left to figure out EV ownership entirely on their own.
The infrastructure was being built. The confidence wasn’t.
EV drivers weren’t falling out of love with their cars. They were falling out of love with the experience of owning one.
That conversation ended with a decision: stop complaining, start building.
Project X was born.

Lyndon brought entrepreneurial leadership and a track record of building successful businesses from the ground up. Tim brought years of global brand and customer experience expertise across multiple industries.
Together, they brought in a team of developers and researchers with one shared brief: build the EV app they wished had existed when they bought their first electric cars.
They started where it mattered most — data quality.
During testing, they found the industry average for EV charge point data accuracy sat at around 65%. That meant roughly one in three charging sessions risked failing, misleading, or leaving a driver stranded. For a platform built on trust, that was a non-starter.
Partners told them “that’s just how it is.” Lyndon and Tim didn’t accept that. They pushed harder, delayed launch, invested more, and eventually got ONEEV’s data accuracy to 99.8%.
